"Swallowed Crimson"

"Swallowed Crimson"
Swallowed Crimson”
This is the second in a series of 3D collage made with found images and chiaroscuro. These images are created as an illusion, based loosely on marionettes and paper theatres of childhood.
This second work of the series is called ‘Swallowed Crimson"” it reflects repressed sexuality power and anger turned inwards towards ones self. Images of a scarlet woman emerge from the shadows, an arm carries a sharp spear turned inwards and pointed heels and red lips emerge out of darkness.
What lies hidden amongst the shadows when our full spectrum cannot be expressed?
A moving series, that holds different emotive states in each frame, alluding to the layers of heavy emotion that can block us from fully embodying our soul song in this life.
This is a reflection of a personal journey with my own experience of trauma at adolescence travelling from fractured to unified eros.
