“River of Tears”

This is the third in a series of 3D collage made with found images and Chiaroscuro. These images are created as an illusion, base loosely on marionettes and paper theatres of childhood.

This third work is of the series is called “River of Tears”.

A black space holds an archway of light, with shadows cast upon it. A closed eye is washed with tears, mirroring a white jacketed torso.

This image has echoes of the void, of the place of sadness and solitude.

Grief runs deep, and within that place of stored sadness is the mechanism of tears.

To feel our grief transforms us, and this is a meditation on the beauty fo tears and how they can cleanse us, if we let them.

A moving series, that holds different emotive states in each frame, alluding to the layers of heavy emotion that can block us from fully embodying our soul song in this life.

This is a reflection of a personal journey with my own experience of trauma at Adolescence travelling from fractured to unified eros.
